| The Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto was founded in 1958 by the will of the Italian-American composer Giancarlo Menotti who wants to organize an event of union between the Italian and American culture. Menotti, the festival's patron, chose the Umbrian town to the historical, artistic and structural policies that has been made and since then, every year in the first half of July, Spoleto hosts this important festival, whose name derives from the meeting Italy and America.
