"The Ancient World" was the theme chosen this year, represented by the symbols of the most important civilizations of the past: the Egyptian, Greek and Roman. The procession opened a wagon topped with a sumptuous and beautiful reproduction of the Sphinx, lying next to a pyramid from which flowed a mummy, behind which a group of girls in elegant dresses in the Egyptian style, interwoven dance to the rhythm of oriental music. Then followed the depiction of a greek temple and Olympus, which towers over some young people in costume, representing the main deity, closed the procession to the group of senators and matrons of the Roman soldiers bearing the flag around a horse-drawn a biga, according to the classic iconography of ancient Rome.
